Our Starlink SMEs performed the initial offsite assessment using Zillow photos with Google Maps satellite view to get a realistic view of the property. In addition, the team requested onsite photos of the back and sides of the house, as well as the existing cable pass-through from the existing ISP. Since the location posed unique challenges such as tall trees surrounding the house, a very steep roof grade and nearby stuctures whicch made it difficult to get a clear obstructions test result.
We requested the customer’s assistance in conducting Starlink obstruction tests from elevated positions on the second floor in order to validate the Good Experience test results.
Then, our Starlink installation SMEs sent the instalaltion proposal to the customer for review and approval. Once approved and the customer confirmed the arrival of the parts, we coordinated the schedule with our professional Starlink Installers in Arden, NC.
The Starlink dish was securely installed using a pivot mount. The Starlink cable was routed to the indoor location of the Gen3 WiFi mesh router and properly connected. The system was powered on, activated, and configured with the customer’s preferred SSID and password.
Two additional mesh routers were strategically positioned in separate areas of the home to provide balanced WiFi coverage. This configuration delivers stable and reliable internet connectivity across multiple rooms and can extend coverage to outdoor areas when required.
They performed Starlink heat mapping to analyse the area’s WiFi coverage and identify weak signal zones. The heat mapping results visually represent coverage, highlighting strong, moderate, or weak connectivity areas.
The Starlink system was successfully installed and activated. Following installation, establishing a full connection with the Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite network may take up to 20 minutes. To verify optimal positioning of the Starlink dish, the team conducted a Starlink alignment test.
After completing the Starlink setup and verifying all physical connections, a Starlink speed test was conducted after one hour of installation to evaluate the network’s performance. Starlink may sometimes took approximately 12 hours to achieve the optimal performance.
