The SOW (scope of work):
- Install a Starlink Standard Kit using pivot mount
- Identify the path for the proprietary Starlink cable and utilize a masonry cable routing kit to replace existing grommets or cable pass-through points. Secure the installation by sealing the openings with quick-dry sealant.
- Activate & set up Starlink Gen 3 WiFi Mesh Router
- Orient the customer on how to use the Starlink App
- Test and document the installations with photos
Our Starlink installation pros arrived on schedule and started by performing the Starlink Obstructions Test using the Starlink App. This essential test helps determine the optimal dish location to ensure a strong and reliable connection to the Starlink satellite network.
The Obstructions Test resulted in a rating of “Good experience,” meaning that the location is good for smooth streaming, browsing, video calls, and gaming. This confirmed that the selected location would ensure the best connectivity and performance for the Starlink satellite network. Therefore, based on these results, our team installed the Starlink dish. We used a pivot mount and securely attached the dish to the roof eaves, ensuring proper alignment and stability for uninterrupted service even in extreme weather conditions.
The installation team of Starlink utilized a masonry cable routing kit to route the Starlink proprietary cable from the outdoor dish into the indoor Gen 3 WiFi Mesh Router safely and neatly. This kit enables professional-grade cable installation, protecting against environmental factors.
Once the cable was connected, the team activated the Starlink system and configured the Gen 3 WiFi Mesh Router using the Starlink app.
Next, our team performed the Starlink Alignment Test to confirm the dish was positioned correctly for optimal satellite connection. This process involved checking the dish’s orientation and placement to ensure an unobstructed sky view, maximizing signal strength.
Lastly, the team performed the Starlink Speed Test 20 minutes after installation to assess the internet connection quality. In most cases, Starlink may take up to 12 hours to synchronize fully.
The speed test results provided by Starlink indicate impressive performance metrics:

- Device to Router: 308 Mbps download and 48 Mbps upload, showcasing excellent local network speeds.
- Router to Internet: 147 Mbps download and 20 Mbps upload, reflecting good satellite-to-router connectivity.
