The SOW (scope of work):
- Install a Starlink Standard Kit at the customer’s approved location.
- Determine Starlink (proprietary) cable path and use Masonry (cable) routing kit to replace existing grommets/cable pass-through and seal — if re-using an existing low-voltage cable pass-through. If there is not one, create a new cable pass-through ONLY WITH THE CUSTOMER’s PERMISSION.
- Activate & Configure Starlink Gen 3 WiFi Mesh Router
- Orient the customer on how to use the Starlink App
- Test, document with photos
Our professional Starlink installers arrived as scheduled and started the installation by conducting the Starlink Obstructions Test(s) found in the Starlink App. These tests help identify the best location for the dish to receive a good, uninterrupted signal from the Starlink satellite.
The Obstructions Test indicates a “Good experience” for streaming, browsing, video calls, and gaming. This told our pro Starlink installer that this is a great location to mount and install the Starlink dish.
The Starlink dish was securely installed at the location approved by the customer, ensuring optimal signal reception based on the results of the Obstructions Test. The Starlink installation team carefully routed the proprietary Starlink cable from the outdoor dish to the indoor Gen 3 WiFi Mesh Router, minimizing visibility and potential wear on the cable.
Once the hardware setup was complete, the Gen3 WiFi Mesh Router was activated and configured by setting up the network name (SSID) and password through the Starlink app.
As the customer was still moving in, they asked that we leave the Starlink router/power supply/cable right by the interior cable pass-through, as they have a table “coming soon”.

Pro Starlink Installers conducted the Starlink Alignment Test to confirm that the dish was precisely positioned for optimal connectivity, followed by the Starlink Speed Test to evaluate the internet connection’s overall quality. This test measured key metrics such as download, upload speeds and latency.
The Starlink Speed Test shown in the image indicates a good connection for activities such as streaming high-definition videos, online gaming, and browsing multiple web pages simultaneously. It’s considered a strong performance for most users.
